A.F. Blakemore & Son Limited Invoicing Solution
A.F. Blakemore have collaborated with TrueCommerce to develop and deliver a bespoke supplier invoicing solution. This will replace a number of our old legacy systems that have become difficult to maintain and inefficient to operate. A huge investment has been made in this project, both in terms of financial cost and people’s time over the last 18 months. Once all our existing suppliers have started using the solution, we will switch off our legacy systems. AFB believes this new system will provide benefits to our suppliers. Quite simply, the sooner each supplier signs up, the sooner the mutual benefits will be realised.
In summary, the solution has been designed with the following functionality; additional features and business benefits will be added as a rolling programme.
Product price checking – to ensure the supplier & AFB are in sync
New product set up – to standardise & automate the process
Product price changes – to standardise & automate the process
Invoice price checking – to ensure the invoice reflects the correct price
Product ordering – orders will pass through the solution
Product related information sharing – one database to manage common files
Invoice matching – to automate the match process and inform of anomalies more quickly

What is being proposed?
As a condition of supply, A.F. Blakemore require order and invoice messages to be exchanged through an electronic trading initiative. All suppliers are required to be able to exchange messages electronically. Sending documents by email and or PDF is not classed as electronic trading.
IS PARTICIPATION IN THE EDI PROCESS MANDATORY?
Yes – All suppliers will be expected to exchange messages electronically with A.F. Blakemore. Going forward this will be a pre-requisite of trading with A.F. Blakemore. For suppliers who do not have an EDI capability, we have a web portal that is simple to use and will allow you to fulfil your electronic trading requirements.
