ecUtopia customers experienced connectivity issues between Saturday July 2 through Monday July 4, 2022. TrueCommerce worked diligently with IBM support to resolve the issues. The issue was triggered by two contributing factors the Gentran Database faced. Inside a ProcessAuditLog table, in the Gentran Database, the IBM Support Representative noticed a large number of rows in the table. Support notices stability issues with Gentran if the table grows larger than the record size the table had grown to. It was noted that another folder, Gensrvnt, contained a large number of empty files and folders. The count of the files/directories in the folder were also over Gentran recommendations.
To resolve this issue and ensure it doesn't occur again, the tabled was truncated/purged and a directory network share, that was corrupted, was put back in place and re-shared. Gentran was successfully restarted and started processing the backlog of transactions. A job is now in place to ensure the tables are kept to a manageable size.
